WorkingLongDistance

I’m not much of one for long distance. I like to sit down and be face-to-face with people. I’ve never much cared for phone meetings or teleconferences. Not being able to see who I’m talking too is always a little weird. Sure, there’s Skype or video conferencing but that’s also a little weird. I don’t like being able to see myself when I’m having a conversation. I just get way too distracted by how awesome my hair looks. Anyway, working long distance isn’t something I’m terribly keen on, but when Chris and I started talking about doing the crowdfunding campaign for Greatest Hits, I knew we’d be spending a lot of time communicating cross-country.

It really started in earnest back in May when we resolved to do this. Emails back and forth every day. Phone calls almost every day. It continues to today. We’re constantly reviewing plans and checking each other’s writing and giving feedback on ideas. Touching base on the progress of what we’d discussed and sharing new ideas. The truth is that I think Chris and I have found over the last couple of months that we’re pretty in sync about everything. I’ll throw an idea out and he’s already been thinking about something similar. He’s got a suggestion and I’ve got a rough plan for something just like it lying around. We’re pretty much always on the same page as far as where we’re at and where we’d like to be going with everything. It’s nice to have that especially with the distance between us while we’re working.

It’s been good working cross-country with Chris so far, but I’m really looking forward to the opportunity for us to work side-by-side on this film on both coasts. Before we can do that, though, we need to raise the funds to make the movie! Join us! We’ve got some great incentives including some fantastic 13″x19″ signed prints of Chris’ photos and sets of high-quality glossy postcards featuring Chris’ photos. Not sure you’d want to mail these postcards, though, certainly one person I gave a few too said we was going to be adding them to his wall. The campaign continues through August 17th and we could use as much support as we can get. If you can’t contribute to the campaign, we’d love it if you could join Seed&Spark and follow it. The more followers we’ve got the better we’re featured on the site. The better we’re featured, the more discoverable we are and the more discoverable we are the more likely we are to reach our goal.
